Join us for Undergraduate Research Week, April 20-24, 2026! 

Undergraduate Research Week is set by the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR, of which U of A is an Institutional Member). April 20-24 may be Undergraduate Research Week, but at the University of Arizona we celebrate all month long!  

Join us throughout April, even spilling into May, to celebrate the phenomenal advances in science, engineering, education, art, technology, social sciences and the humanities being made by Arizona students!  As a land-grant, R1 university, we are privileged with cultural depth from our local communities and innovative excellence from our research tradition. Join us for a vibrant lineup of showcases, conferences, open houses, seminars, and events spotlighting the creativity, curiosity, and innovative discoveries of our Arizona Wildcats.

April 3, 2026 - Spring 2026 College of Humanities Undergraduate Research Symposium

8:30 am - 2:00 pm, Tucson Room, SUMC

The College of Humanities Undergraduate Research Symposium features panel presentations by undergraduate researchers throughout the day on the topics of cultures of care; affect & personal experiences; cultural studies; and women in history. 

April 10, 2026 - 4th Annual Latin American Studies Symposium (ALASS)

11:00 am - 4:00 pm, Ventana Room, SUMC

This dynamic, student-led symposium showcases the research and creative work of undergraduate and graduate students engaging with Latin America. Bringing together participants from across campus, the event offers a welcoming and inclusive space to exchange ideas, foster dialogue, and build community across disciplines.

April 15, 2026 - Student Researcher Panel - hosted by the Undergraduate Research Ambassadors

6:00 pm - 7:15 pm, Data Studio (Room B201), University of Arizona Main Library

Join the Undergraduate Research Ambassador team as they host a panel discussion with experience undergraduate researchers who will share their personal stories in finding research,  getting starting in their positions working through challenges, and presenting and sharing their work.

April 18, 2026 - Arizona NASA Space Grant Consortium: Annual Student Research Symposium

8:30 am - 4:30 pm, SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center. Address: 1365 N. Scottsdale Road Scottsdale, Arizona 85257

The annual Arizona NASA Space Grant Consortium (AZSGC) Student Research Symposium is a statewide event that includes student presentations from The University of Arizona, Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and AZSGC community colleges and high schools. The Symposium consists of presentations on a variety of topics based on research completed by Space Grant interns, scholars and ASCEND teams during the current academic year.

April 22, 2026 - W.A. Franke Honors Pinnacle

1:00 pm - 3:30 pm, Bear Down Building

The W.A. Franke Honors Pinnacle is a symposium that displays research of the students of the W.A. Franke Honors College, including seniors working on their Honors Thesis and Quest Projects. This event is open to all and will provide an insight into the work that Honors students are completing. Pinnacle will have both posters and 10-minute multimedia presentations from students.

April 23, 2026 - TIMESTEP Research Apprenticeship Showcase

4:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Steward Observatory Lobby & Courtyard

The TIMESTEP Research Apprenticeship Showcase will host a poster session that will feature the work of the 2025-2026 Research Apprenticeship students. At the showcase, attendees will be able to learn more about the Research Apprenticeship program and the new ASTR 276 course, Research Methods in Astronomy.

April 24, 2026 - SGPP Undergraduate Research Symposium on Democracy & Policy

9:00 am - 12:30 pm, Grand Challenges Building, First Floor

Join our outstanding SGPP students and faculty for engaging research presentations on American politics, foreign affairs, and public policy. Event includes a keynote by Don Henninger, former Managing Editor of the Arizona Republic and Co-lead of the Arizona Democracy Resilience Network.  Please follow the link in the event title to RSVP for this event.

April 24, 2026 - VIP and CURE Spring 2026 Poster Session

1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Student Union Memorial Center Grand Ballroom

The event is open to the public and will feature posters and poster alternatives like demos or videos from VIP teams and CURE courses across campus, representing multiple programs, disciplines, and areas of inquiry. With a strong focus on undergraduate research, the VIP and CURE programs provide course-based work, thesis projects, and federal work-study opportunities for students to participate in faculty-led research, design, and creative inquiry projects.

April 24, 2026 - Astronomy Club Research Symposium

5:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Steward Lobby & N120

Join the Astronomy Club's research symposium, which is open to all. Learn more about research opportunities with astronomy and support students during the poster session. Additionally, Chris Impey will be giving a talk as the keynote speaker. 

April 24-25, 2026 - Prospecting the Past: The Arizona Undergraduate History Research Symposium

      Day 1: Friday, April 24: Bear Down Gym.  By invitation only.

      Day 2: Saturday, April 25: University of Arizona Main Library, Second Floor.  Open to the public.

"Prospecting the Past" provides University of Arizona from disciplines across campus an opportunity to present their original research in historical studies to an audience of peers and faculty specialists.

April 30, 2026 - PAH 420 Final Review Showcase: "Cultivating a More Resilient Food System"

11:00 am - 12:15 pm, UA Main Library Room B252-4

Join students, instructors, and community partners from PAH 420 Innovation and the Human Condition in imagining how to design a more resilient food system in Pima County. This semester, students worked on projects in partnership with the Pima County Food Alliance (specifically the Food Access & Distribution Working Group) and alongside at least 10 additional collaborating organizations to
understand and take action on current needs and opportunities in Southern Arizona’s local food system, especially in light of recent federallevel changes and other stressors on the food system. Students will present their results at the Final Review Showcase for the broader community.

April 30, 2026 - PAH 201 Final Showcase: "I can't ____ when I'm hungry" 

12:30 pm - 1:45 pm, Sonora Room in the Student Memorial Union

The PAH 201 Final Showcase will display the work of students through a poster session as well as a large-scale public exhibit “I can’t ___ when I’m hungry.” PAH 201 Applied Humanities Practice has been collaborating with the UA Campus Pantry on an applied humanities research project about food access among college students. 

April 30, 2026 - CBC Undergraduate Research & Senior Thesis Poster Fair

1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Bear Down Gym

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is hosting their annual Undergraduate Research & Senior Thesis Poster Fair on April 30th! Undergraduate researchers across the university conducting research in the field of chemistry and biochemistry will be presenting their research via posters, including graduating seniors completing their thesis. 

May 1, 2026 - Student iShowcase, hosted by the College of Information Science

12:00 pm - 2:30 pm, Student Union Memorial Center Grand Ballroom

The University of Arizona iShowcase presents interactive research and creative projects by College of Information Science (InfoSci) students in game design and development, digital storytelling, data science, information science, machine learning and more.  Join industry partners, community members, and InfoSci faculty and students representing 40 projects, including hands-on video and tabletop games and senior capstones.
